I mean, Saint-Tropez in summer is basically one giant party, so finding a place where you’re not listening to yacht engines and drunk tourists until 3 AM is actually pretty valuable.

The thing about this hotel is it feels more like staying at someone’s slightly quirky French aunt’s house than a typical tourist trap. The rooms are clean and comfortable enough, though don’t expect Instagram-worthy marble bathrooms or anything. What you will get is that authentic Provençal vibe – you know, the faded pastels and weathered shutters that look effortless but probably cost a fortune to maintain. The staff actually seems to care, which is refreshing in a town where half the places treat you like walking ATMs during peak season. They’ll give you real directions to places (not just the obvious tourist spots) and honestly seem happy when you ask about the best time to hit the market without getting trampled by cruise ship crowds.

Location-wise, you’re about a 10-minute walk to Place des Lices where the locals play pétanque under the plane trees – it’s one of those scenes that makes you feel like you’ve stumbled into a movie. The famous port with all those ridiculous superyachts is maybe 15 minutes on foot, which means you can wander down for the obligatory gawking session but retreat when it gets too much. Parking can be a nightmare in Saint-Tropez (seriously, I’ve seen people circle for an hour), but the hotel has a small lot that’s worth its weight in gold during July and August. The 7.4 rating makes sense – it’s solidly good without being spectacular, but sometimes that’s exactly what you want when you’re spending most of your time exploring anyway. Plus, let’s be real, you’re paying Saint-Tropez prices no matter where you stay, so getting decent value at a place that doesn’t feel like a corporate chain is actually pretty rare around here.

  Great one bedroom apartment in the heart of St Tropez. Super easy to walk into town and local beach. Stylish boho decor. We had all we needed- hair dryers, iron, coffee machine, fully equipped kitchen, extra towels, cleaning products- honestly everything we needed and more. Friendly, communicative owner. He didn’t speak much of English but was very sweet and with the translator we made it all work. He kindly allowed us to check in earlier and leave our bags and then also to check out later so we could relax. Yes the apartment is in the basement but it isn’t dark. Area is safe at night too didn’t have any issue.
