Look, I’ve stayed in a lot of places in Saint-Tropez over the years, and honestly? Most of them are either tourist traps or so ridiculously expensive you feel guilty using the towels. But this little apartment on Rue du Petit Saint-Jean is actually different – and I mean that in the best way possible. You know how everyone talks about being “steps from the beach” but then you’re schlepping for twenty minutes with your beach bag? Well, you literally walk out the door here and you’re at La Ponche in about a minute. I’m talking about the real Saint-Tropez beach too, not some crowded strip – this is where the old fishing boats still pull up in the morning, and you can grab coffee at Sénéquier without feeling like you need to take out a second mortgage.

The apartment itself has this whole luxurious thing going on (hence the name, I guess), but it doesn’t feel stuffy or like you can’t touch anything. The windows open up and you get these glimpses of the port between the old buildings, plus you can actually hear the boats coming and going if you’re an early riser like me. What really got me was the location on the street – it’s tucked into the historic quarter where the buildings have that weathered stone look and the narrow passages that make you feel like you’re in some French film. But here’s the thing nobody tells you: parking in this area is absolutely brutal during peak season, so definitely ask about that when you book. I ended up leaving my car at the public lot near the Gendarmerie and just walking everywhere, which actually turned out perfect because you’re right in the middle of everything anyway.

The whole setup just works, you know? You can stumble back from dinner at one of those tiny bistros on Place aux Herbes without navigating the chaos near the main port, but you’re still close enough to join the evening scene when you want to. I spent most mornings wandering down to watch the fishermen at the Vieux Port with my coffee, then hitting La Ponche when it was still relatively quiet – honestly, that’s when Saint-Tropez shows you its best side, before the day-trippers arrive and the whole place gets a bit crazy. The apartment has this comfortable, lived-in luxury feel that somehow manages to be both elegant and relaxed, which is pretty much impossible to find in this town. Plus the 4-star rating actually means something here – they clearly put thought into the details without going overboard with unnecessary fancy touches that just get in your way.

  Cet appartement est trop joli et trop bien situé!!
  A deux pas de la plage de la Ponche je suis allé nager le matin puis j ai.pris mon petit dejeuner chez Senequier juste a coté sur le port
  
  On est situé dans le plus joli quartier mythique de St Tropez avec toutes les boutiques et les restaurants
