Hotel Description
You know what caught me off guard about Cazet Cozy? The name actually undersells it. I mean, sure, it’s cozy in that intimate villa way, but this place has serious space – two proper bedrooms that easily handle six people without anyone feeling cramped. The location in Gassin is honestly perfect if you want that Saint-Tropez experience without the Saint-Tropez chaos. You’re maybe ten minutes from all the港口 madness, but up here in the hills, it’s just you, the cicadas, and this gorgeous estate pool that somehow always catches the afternoon light just right.
The whole setup feels like staying at a friend’s family place – if your friend’s family happened to have excellent taste and deep pockets. The pool area is where you’ll spend most of your time, trust me. It’s not huge, but it doesn’t need to be. There’s this terrace that wraps around with enough lounge space that even when we had the full six people, nobody was fighting over the good spots. What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets in the evenings. Down in Saint-Tropez proper, you’ve got that constant hum of scooters and late-night revelry, but up here? Just the sound of water and maybe some distant laughter from neighboring villas. The bedrooms are actually well thought out too – the master has this view that stretches toward the coast, and even the second bedroom doesn’t feel like an afterthought.
Honestly, the whole Gassin location is underrated. Most people barrel straight into Saint-Tropez and miss these hilltop villages entirely, which is their loss. You’re close enough to hit Pampelonne Beach for lunch (the drive down is actually pretty scenic), but you can also just stay put and feel completely removed from the summer tourist circus. Parking isn’t the nightmare it is down in the port area, and when you do venture out, you’re coming back to something that feels like a proper retreat. The check-in was refreshingly straightforward – none of that hotel lobby production, just keys and a quick walkthrough. I’d say the only minor thing is that the kitchen setup is a bit basic if you’re planning to do serious cooking, but let’s be real, you’re in the South of France. The whole point is to eat out and drink rosé by the pool until you forget what day it is.
