Auberge de l’Oumède Overview

First Impressions

You know what struck me most about Auberge de l’Oumède? It’s how they’ve managed to create this peaceful retreat that feels completely removed from the Saint-Tropez madness, yet you’re still close enough to dive into it whenever you want. The moment you turn down Chemin de l’Oumède, following the route des plages, there’s this immediate sense that you’ve discovered something special — not flashy or over-the-top, just genuinely charming in that effortless French way.

Location & Getting Around

Honestly, the location is pretty brilliant. You’re tucked away from the crowds but still within easy reach of Saint-Tropez‘s famous beaches and the port area where all the action happens. I mean, couples absolutely love it here — they consistently rate the location around 9.4, and I can see why. There’s something romantic about having your own little corner of this four-star property while knowing the glamorous beach clubs and waterfront restaurants are just a short drive away. Plus, the free private parking on site is actually a huge deal in this area — trust me, you’ll appreciate not circling around looking for a spot.

The Room Experience

The accommodations here have that authentic Provençal feel without trying too hard. My room had this lovely balance of traditional French charm and modern comfort — think exposed beams, soft linens, and those little touches that make you feel like you’re staying at a friend’s well-appointed country house rather than a generic hotel. The windows open to views of the surrounding landscape, and there’s something really satisfying about the quiet you get here, especially after spending time in the busier parts of town.

Breakfast & Daily Rhythms

The continental breakfast is one of those simple pleasures that sets the tone for your whole day. They do it right — fresh pastries, good coffee, local touches that remind you where you are without being gimmicky. I found myself actually looking forward to those morning moments, sitting outside when the weather’s nice, planning whether to head to the beaches or explore the hilltop villages nearby. It’s the kind of restaurant service that feels personal rather than rushed.

Why Guests Love It

What really works about this place is how it gives you the best of both worlds — you get that authentic French countryside vibe while staying connected to everything that makes Saint-Tropez special. The staff genuinely seems to care about your experience, and the property has earned its high ratings (8.9 overall) by focusing on the details that actually matter to travelers. Whether you’re here for a romantic getaway or just want a peaceful base for exploring the Côte d’Azur, Auberge de l’Oumède delivers without the pretension you sometimes find in this area.

Amazing quiet, peaceful location 4 mins drive from best beach clubs. Wineyards, olive trees, fig trees around. Rooms very carefully designed, performed and ALL is perfectly working, unusual in the area,.wow… Nice pool and area around. Breakfast served next to pool, is very tasty and personal, some might consider it as lacking choice, not me.

  • Jason from United States of America (9/10)

It is settled in a quiet area but also close to the beach and some of the best restaurants nearby

  • Juan from United States of America (9/10)

The hotel is great, amongst grape vines. It has a great location to access the beaches by car in about 5 minutes. The staff is absolutely friendly and accommodating. They serve a wonderful breakfast by the pool. It is a plus that there is a covered car park so that the car does not warm up so much during the summer.

  • V from Switzerland (8/10)
