Look, I’ve stayed at plenty of places in Saint-Tropez over the years, and honestly? Most of them are either overpriced tourist traps or they’re trying so hard to be glamorous that they forget about actual comfort. VILLTAK Saint-Tropez is different – and I mean that in the best possible way.

The location on Rue Jean Mermoz is actually perfect if you know the area. You’re tucked away from the absolute chaos of the port (trust me, you don’t want to be right in that madness during July and August), but you can still walk to Place des Lices in about five minutes. That’s where the real Saint-Tropez happens – the Tuesday and Saturday markets, the café culture, locals playing pétanque under the plane trees. The hotel itself has this understated elegance that feels refreshingly authentic. I was expecting another one of those places where everything’s gold-plated and over-the-top, but the design here is more… well, it’s sophisticated without screaming at you. The rooms have this lovely natural light – something about the way they positioned the windows catches the morning sun just right. And you know what I really appreciated? The attention to sound. Saint-Tropez can get pretty lively at night, but somehow this place manages to feel like a peaceful retreat even when the town’s in full swing.

What really won me over was how the staff actually seemed to know the area – not just the obvious tourist spots, but the good stuff. They pointed me toward this little wine bar that I never would’ve found on my own, and when I mentioned wanting to avoid the crowds at Pampelonne beach, they suggested a much better spot that turned out to be maybe a ten-minute drive away. The whole experience felt curated but not stuffy, if that makes sense. I mean, Saint-Tropez has a reputation for being pretentious (and let’s be honest, some of it is), but staying here felt like having a friend who happens to live in one of the most beautiful places in the French Riviera. The 9.9 rating makes sense once you’re there – it’s not just about fancy amenities or Instagram-worthy lobbies. It’s about getting those little details right that actually matter when you’re trying to experience a place, not just check it off a list.

  This was one of our best stays on the riviera. Everything in this property was immaculate. The pictures can not show the great detail and all the effort that has been taken in creating this place. Everything was brand new and extremely high quality from the Dyson hairdryer and vacuum to the ambience scenic smart lightning and all the villeroy & Boch dishes … just perfection, ah and the towels… the towels were better than in any 5* resort that we have ever been! Highly highly recommended. And the staff was super responsive and willing to help immediately. Just perfection! Can’t wait to go back 🍹

  Top notch, professionally managed and staffed. Excellent location. Super clean . Be warned you are in Saint Tropez in the heart of the Marina so there will be noise from the disco’s and clubs. The staff was super attentive and responsive.

  This property is an absolute gem in St Tropez. It exceeded my expectations and is even more beautiful in person. The reception staff were so helpful and friendly during our communication and we were able to check-in early. The apartment was spotlessly clean and had some lovely fruit and macarons as a welcome gift, along with the fridge having water, milk and soft drinks. The beds were large and extremely comfortable, the towels were super soft and cosy and my sister and I were so greatful to use the Dyson hair tools instead of basic hairdryers you often find in hotels. I would recommend this apartment to anyone looking to spend a few days in St Tropez, especially if you like having more space and privacy than a hotel. It is perfect and we are already planning another visit. Thank you ☺️
