You know what caught me off guard about Villa Acacias? I was expecting another one of those overly polished Saint-Tropez places that feels like a movie set, but this actually feels like someone’s elegant home that just happens to be ridiculously well-located. I mean, you’re literally on Boulevard des Acacias – which honestly sounds fancier than it is – but you can walk to Place des Lices in about three minutes. That’s where the real Saint-Tropez happens, with the Tuesday and Saturday markets that locals actually shop at, not just tourists taking photos.

The villa itself has this sort of understated charm that’s hard to find in Saint-Tropez these days. The rooms feel spacious without being cavernous, and there’s actual character in the details – like the way morning light filters through the shutters, or how you can hear the fountain in the courtyard from most rooms (it’s soothing, not annoying, I promise). What I really appreciated was the parking situation – they’ve got it sorted, which is basically a miracle in this town. During peak season, you’ll see people circling the old town for an hour looking for a spot, but you’re already tucked away and walking to dinner. The staff seems to genuinely know the area too, not just the obvious tourist spots. They pointed me toward this little wine bar on Rue de la Ponche that I never would’ve found otherwise.

Here’s the thing about the location that really matters – you’re close enough to the port and the famous cafés to feel like you’re in the heart of it all, but you’re not dealing with the chaos that comes with staying right on the harbor. The Boulevard des Acacias runs parallel to the main drag, so you get maybe a five-minute walk to Sénéquier or Café de Paris, but you can actually sleep at night without hearing every conversation from the street. I was there in July (probably a mistake budget-wise, but whatever), and while the town was absolutely packed, the villa felt like a little oasis. The breakfast area overlooks this lovely garden space, and honestly, starting your day there with proper coffee and croissants before heading into the Saint-Tropez madness just makes everything more manageable. It’s one of those places where you can tell the owners actually care about the experience – not in a fussy, over-the-top way, but in those small details that make you want to come back.
