You know what caught me off guard about this place? I expected just another Saint-Tropez rental, but walking into this apartment in Résidence Le Bailli actually felt like discovering someone’s well-kept secret. The building sits right on Avenue Général Leclerc – which honestly sounds more intimidating than it is – but you’re literally a five-minute walk from Place des Lices where the locals play pétanque every evening. I mean, you can hear the gentle click of the metal balls if you listen from the rooftop.

And speaking of that rooftop – this is where things get interesting. It’s completely private, which in Saint-Tropez is sort of like finding a unicorn. Most places here, you’re sharing terraces with half the building or dealing with tourists peering over from neighboring balconies. But up there, it’s just you and this panoramic view that stretches toward the old town’s red-tiled roofs. The space is thoughtfully set up too, not just some afterthought deck with plastic furniture. I spent most mornings up there with coffee, watching the town wake up below. The apartment itself has that modern French aesthetic – clean lines, good natural light, everything you actually need without the fussy decorative stuff that screams “vacation rental.” The kitchen’s properly equipped (I’m talking real knives and decent pans), which matters if you hit the morning market at Place aux Herbes and want to cook something fresh.

Location-wise, you’re in this sweet spot where you avoid the absolute chaos of the port area but can still walk everywhere that matters. The beach at Pampelonne is a quick drive, but honestly, some of my favorite moments were just wandering the narrow streets between the apartment and the citadel – there’s this little stretch near Rue de la Ponche where you catch glimpses of the harbor between old stone buildings. Parking can be… well, it’s Saint-Tropez in summer, so manage expectations. But the residence has its own spots, which saves you from circling the block like a vulture. The whole setup just works – it’s comfortable without trying too hard, positioned perfectly for both the touristy stuff and the authentic local rhythms, and that rooftop really does make you feel like you’ve got your own private slice of the Côte d’Azur. Plus, the 9-star rating makes sense once you’re there; it’s those little thoughtful touches and the fact that everything simply functions the way it should.

  What could be improved: The car parting spot was absolutely horrific. Again do easily solved if the « host » changed the locking system or , since it is a very secure parking area, made sure by the hosts «  greeter” that the tiny parking spot was left open for her client!! Would really really help instead of creating anxiety on part of the new renter. Very simple !!!! – leave the door of garage open!!
