Look, I’ve stayed at my fair share of places in Saint-Tropez, and honestly, Residence-Allard gets something right that a lot of the flashier spots miss entirely. It’s tucked away from the madness of the port – you know, where all those massive yachts park and everyone’s trying to see and be seen – but you’re still close enough that you can actually walk to the good stuff without needing a taxi every five minutes.

The thing about this place is it feels more like you’re staying at someone’s well-appointed cousin’s place rather than a hotel, if that makes sense. I mean, it’s got that residential vibe going on (hence the name, I guess), which actually works really well when you want to decompress after dealing with the crowds down at Place des Lices or fighting for a decent spot at Pampelonne Beach. The rooms aren’t massive – this is Saint-Tropez, after all, where space costs more than most people’s cars – but they’re thoughtfully laid out. You’ll find little touches that show someone actually thought about how people live, not just how they sleep for eight hours.

What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night. You’re far enough from the port that you don’t get the late-night party noise echoing off the water, but close enough to the old town that you can still hear the church bells in the morning – which, honestly, is a much better wake-up call than construction noise or delivery trucks. The staff actually knows the area too, which sounds basic but you’d be surprised how many places just hand you a generic tourist map. They pointed me toward this little bakery that’s maybe a three-minute walk away where locals actually go, not just the tourists who stumble out of their hotels looking for the nearest café.

Parking is always a nightmare in Saint-Tropez – I mean, always – but they’ve got it sorted, which saves you from circling the narrow streets like a lost seagull. And here’s something I didn’t expect: the whole place has this calm energy that’s pretty rare around here, especially during peak season when everything feels a bit frantic. Maybe it’s because it’s more low-key than the big-name hotels, or maybe it’s just good management, but it works.

The 8.4 rating makes perfect sense to me – it’s not trying to be the fanciest place on the Riviera, but it nails the fundamentals really well. You get clean, comfortable rooms, genuinely helpful service, and a location that lets you enjoy Saint-Tropez without feeling like you’re stuck in the middle of a tourist hurricane. For a three-star place, it punches above its weight, especially considering how easy it is to get completely ripped off in this town. I’d definitely stay here again, particularly if I wanted to actually relax rather than just pose by a pool all day.

  What could be improved: The property didn’t tell us there was going to be some maintenance taking place in the hallway so the morning we were often distrurbed by that. But overall i totally advise you to go here

  Super tolle Lage, das Apartment ist quasi neuwertig und war sehr sauber. Ich habe die Küche zwar nicht benutzt, aber sie war neuwertig und schien komplett zu sein
  
  What could be improved: Die Eingangstür schlecht schallgedämmt. Geräusche aus dem Flur werden kaum absorbiert.
  Es gibt keinen Blick oder Balkon, aber bei dem relativ niedrigen Preis lässt sich das leicht verschmerzen.
  Ich würde diese Unterkunft deshalb wieder buchen, wegen der anderen Vorteile
