Look, I’ve stayed in plenty of places in Saint-Tropez over the years, and honestly? This little townhouse on Impasse Maurice Otou is exactly what you want if you’re tired of the whole glitzy hotel scene but still want to be right in the thick of things. The address might not ring a bell, but trust me – you’re literally a three-minute walk from Place des Lices where all the locals play pétanque in the evenings, and maybe five minutes from the old port if you cut through the narrow streets behind the church.

The house itself has that authentic Provençal charm that so many places try to fake but this one actually gets right. I mean, it’s genuinely a traditional mitoyenne (that’s a terraced house, basically), so you’re sharing walls with neighbors, which actually adds to the authentic feel rather than detracting from it. The rooms have those thick stone walls that keep things cool even in August – and you know how brutal August can be down here. What I really appreciated was how quiet it stays at night, even though you’re practically in the center of town. The impasse is tucked away enough that you don’t get the late-night party crowd stumbling past your window, but you can still hear the gentle hum of the town winding down, which is oddly comforting.

The three-star rating might make you think it’s basic, but honestly, it punches above its weight. The owner clearly knows what travelers actually need – decent WiFi (surprisingly good for this area), proper air conditioning that doesn’t sound like a helicopter, and a kitchen that’s actually equipped for more than just making coffee. I ended up cooking a few meals there using ingredients from the Tuesday market, which is something I rarely bother with when traveling. The bathroom’s compact but functional, and there’s this little terrace where you can have your morning coffee while listening to the church bells – very Saint-Tropez without being touristy about it. Parking can be a bit of a puzzle in this part of town, but the owner gives you solid advice about where to find spots, and honestly, once you’re settled in, you won’t want to drive anywhere anyway. Everything worth seeing is walkable, and the real Saint-Tropez – the one the locals actually live in – is right outside your door.

No coffee maker, paper products were very limited, bedding was stained, parking was a long distance and 50 Euro per day. The place has potential also but the management needs to remake this to fit the cost. Shop worn, worn out and it looks like nobody cares.

  Sehr kompliziert ist es mit den Koffern zum Apartment zu kommen. Es geht nicht mit dem Auto zum Eingang zu fahren. Man muss alles die ganze Straße hoch schleppen. Das Internet ist sehr schwach.
