Look, I’ll be honest – when I first saw “Magnifique duplex” in the name, I rolled my eyes a little. But you know what? This place on Chemin des Amoureux actually lives up to the hype, and that’s saying something in Saint-Tropez where everything’s supposed to be magnifique.

The duplex setup is genuinely clever – you get this sense of having your own little house rather than just crashing in another hotel room. The downstairs flows nicely into the terrace area, and I mean, that pool situation is exactly what you want after spending a morning wandering around the old port getting elbowed by tourists with massive cameras. It’s not Olympic-sized or anything, but it’s perfect for cooling off and honestly, the privacy factor makes it feel way more luxurious than those crowded hotel pools where you’re practically swimming with strangers’ kids. The terrace gets gorgeous light in the late afternoon – I spent way too much time out there with a glass of rosé just watching the whole Saint-Tropez circus unfold in the distance.

What I really appreciated was how the location gives you the best of both worlds. You’re tucked away on this quiet little street (and yes, Chemin des Amoureux is as romantic as it sounds, especially in the evenings), but you can still walk to Place des Lices for the Tuesday and Saturday markets – trust me, go early before the crowds hit and grab some of those incredible olives from the vendor on the north side. The harbor’s about a fifteen-minute stroll, which means you can easily wander down for dinner at one of those waterfront spots without dealing with the nightmare of parking near the port. Actually, parking here is refreshingly straightforward, which anyone who’s tried to navigate Saint-Tropez in July will tell you is basically a miracle.

The whole vibe feels more like staying at a friend’s well-appointed place than a typical hotel experience. Sure, it’s a three-star property, so don’t expect someone to unpack your bags or anything, but the high rating makes sense when you factor in the independence you get. I loved being able to grab coffee and pastries from the boulangerie down the street and eat breakfast on the terrace instead of sitting in some stuffy hotel dining room. The duplex layout means you can spread out properly – work upstairs if you absolutely have to check emails, then completely disconnect downstairs by the pool. During the crazy summer season when Saint-Tropez turns into this beautiful madhouse, having a peaceful retreat to come back to is honestly priceless. Even in the shoulder seasons, there’s something special about having your own little slice of the Côte d’Azur to decompress in.
