You know what? When I first saw the address “Chemin des Amoureux” (literally “Lovers’ Lane”), I thought it might be one of those overly romantic tourist traps. But honestly, this little apartment tucked away on this winding path actually delivers on the charm without being cheesy about it.

The place sits just far enough from the madness of Place des Lices and the port area that you can actually sleep past 7 AM – which, if you’ve ever stayed right in the heart of Saint-Tropez during summer, you’ll know is basically impossible. I mean, the main streets turn into a parade of supercars and mopeds before most people have had their coffee. Here though, you get this surprisingly peaceful vibe while still being maybe a 10-minute walk to all the action. The apartment itself feels like someone’s actual home rather than a sterile rental – there’s this lived-in quality with local pottery scattered around and books in French that look like they’ve actually been read.

What really sold me was stepping out onto that little terrace in the evening. You can’t see the sea from here (let’s be honest about that), but you get these glimpses of the old town’s terracotta rooftops and, if you crane your neck just right, a sliver of the bell tower from L’Église de Saint-Tropez. The whole setup feels authentically Provençal – not the Instagram version, but the real deal with weathered shutters and that particular quality of late afternoon light filtering through the plane trees. Parking is… well, it’s Saint-Tropez, so it’s a nightmare everywhere, but there’s actually street parking nearby if you’re willing to walk a bit and don’t mind playing the daily musical chairs game that happens here every morning around 9 AM when everyone’s heading to the beach.

The 8.7 rating makes total sense to me – it’s not luxury resort territory, but it nails that sweet spot of being genuinely comfortable and well-located without the crazy price tag of staying right on the waterfront. During peak season (July and especially August), you’ll still hear some nighttime revelry drifting up from the town center, but it’s more like a distant hum than the full-blown party soundtrack you’d get closer to the port. Plus, there’s something to be said for staying somewhere that feels like you’re living in Saint-Tropez rather than just visiting it – you know, picking up bread from the boulangerie down the hill, nodding hello to the same neighbors each morning. It’s that kind of place.
