Look, I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to Loumar on Chemin des Salins, I wasn’t expecting much from the outside. It’s tucked away from all the Saint-Tropez madness, which honestly turned out to be its biggest selling point. You’re maybe a ten-minute walk from the old port where everyone’s posing with their yachts, but far enough that you actually get some peace at night. The location is sort of perfect, actually – close enough to stumble back from a late dinner at La Ponche, but you won’t hear drunk tourists singing at 2 AM.

What really got me was how the staff seemed to genuinely care about the details. I mean, the woman at reception remembered I mentioned wanting restaurant recommendations for somewhere locals actually eat (she sent me to this tiny place near the fish market that doesn’t even have a proper sign). The rooms have this understated elegance thing going on – not the over-the-top luxury you see at some Saint-Tropez hotels where everything’s gold-plated and screaming “look how expensive I am.” The beds are ridiculously comfortable, and you know what? The shower pressure was actually decent, which… if you’ve stayed at boutique hotels on the Côte d’Azur, you know that’s not always a given.

Parking was surprisingly painless too – they’ve got their own spots, which in Saint-Tropez during summer is basically like finding treasure. The whole property has this calm, residential feel that makes you forget you’re in one of France’s most chaotic resort towns. Breakfast on the terrace was where I spent most mornings, watching the light change over the hills while the town slowly woke up below. By July and August this area gets absolutely packed, but even then, Loumar maintains this bubble of tranquility. The pool area never felt crowded, probably because it’s not huge and they seem to keep occupancy reasonable. I stayed in late September and it was perfect – still warm enough for swimming, but with that lovely end-of-season mellowness when the locals reclaim their town. Staff mentioned that spring is gorgeous too, when the mimosa blooms and you can actually get a table at the good restaurants without booking weeks ahead. That 9.7 rating makes total sense once you’re there – it’s the kind of place that just works without trying too hard.

  We had a great stay. The owners were really kind and welcoming – no ask was too much. The property is very conveniently located and is nicely equipped with a swimming pool. Each room is well-sized and has its own terrace or balcony.

  Nice and quiet surroundings. Some of the occupants were noisy but that’s ok. They all settled down by 10/11.

  I didn’t have the breakfast as I was at an all inclusive event but I’m sure it would have been lovely.
  
  What could be improved: Stairs are steep so if you have mobility issues, you will need to just take it steady up the stairs but once you’re up there, it’s lovely. Private balcony and the fridge was a great positive.

  Loumar was fantastic. I really enjoyed the whole stay. Sebastian and his family are very friendly and accommodating and we felt very relaxed and comfortable the whole time. The pool is beautiful and breakfast was lovely. Only a short drive to the centre of st tropez

  The property was brand new, bedrooms with balcony and a nice view on the pool. Very comfortable bed, nice size room, super clean bathroom.
  The amenities were perfect but the best part was the service: the host was super attentive to us and any requests we could have and provided an excellent breakfast!!
