Hotel Description
You know what struck me first about Holiday Home Le Pilon? It’s tucked away in this quieter pocket of Saint-Tropez where you can actually hear yourself think – which honestly is pretty rare around here, especially during the summer madness. I mean, you’re still close enough to walk into the old town (maybe 15 minutes if you don’t mind a bit of a stroll), but you’re not dealing with the constant hum of mopeds and party boats that can drive you crazy when you’re trying to sleep off too much rosé from the night before. The place itself is pretty straightforward – it’s a 3-star holiday rental that feels more like staying at someone’s well-maintained vacation home than a sterile hotel room. The furnishing is that comfortable European style where everything actually works but doesn’t try too hard to impress you.
What I really appreciated was how the local Interhome team handles things – they’re not hovering over you like some places, but when I had a question about where to find decent groceries (the little Monoprix near Place des Lices is your friend, by the way), they knew exactly what I was talking about. The kitchen setup is actually functional, which matters because eating out in Saint-Tropez for every meal will bankrupt you faster than you think. I spent quite a few mornings making coffee and planning the day from the terrace, watching the light change over the hills – there’s something about that early morning quiet before the town wakes up that makes you understand why people lose their minds over this place. Parking can be a bit of an adventure, as it is everywhere around here, but at least you’re not circling the port area for an hour looking for a spot.
Look, a 7.3 rating tells you this isn’t the Four Seasons, and that’s honestly part of its charm. The WiFi works, the shower has decent pressure, and you’ve got space to spread out your stuff without feeling cramped. If you’re the type who needs turndown service and a concierge, this probably isn’t your speed. But if you want to live like a local for a week – hitting the morning market, maybe driving over to Ramatuelle for lunch, coming back for an afternoon nap – it’s pretty perfect. The real win is the location balance: close enough to stumble home from a night at Les Caves du Roy if that’s your thing, but far enough away that you can actually get some sleep and wake up human the next day. Just don’t come in August expecting tranquility – even this relatively quiet spot gets pretty lively when the whole world descends on Saint-Tropez.

What a great find in St Tropez! It's a very basic house but you cannot ask for a better location, at this price. We already booked it for next year.
