You know what struck me first about Chez Garance? It’s tucked away on Rue de la Résistance – which honestly sounds way more dramatic than this quiet little street actually is. I mean, you’re literally a three-minute walk from the harbor madness, but somehow this spot feels like you’ve discovered Saint-Tropez’s best-kept secret. The building itself has that effortless French charm where everything looks perfectly imperfect, if that makes sense. Weathered shutters, climbing vines, the kind of place where you half-expect to see Catherine Deneuve having coffee on the terrace.

What really gets me about this place is how they’ve nailed that sweet spot between authentic and comfortable. The rooms aren’t huge – this is Saint-Tropez, not Vegas – but they’re thoughtfully designed with local touches that actually mean something. Think Provençal fabrics that don’t look like they came from a tourist shop, and bathrooms with those gorgeous cement tiles you see in old French homes. The staff genuinely knows the town, too. When I asked about avoiding the cruise ship crowds at the morning market, the front desk guy (I think his name was Laurent?) gave me this whole insider strategy about timing and which vendors to hit first. That’s the kind of local intel you can’t Google.

Honestly, the location is what makes this place special. Sure, you’re close enough to stumble back from a late dinner at La Forge or catch the sunset crowds at Café de Paris, but Rue de la Résistance stays surprisingly quiet even during the August insanity. I was there in late July – peak chaos season – and still managed to sleep with the windows open most nights. The only real downside? Parking is basically nonexistent nearby, but that’s Saint-Tropez for you. Most guests either walk from the public lots or just embrace the whole pedestrian vibe once they’re settled in. There’s something liberating about not worrying about your car for a few days, actually. With a 9.2 rating, I get why people keep coming back – it’s got that rare combination of being in the heart of everything while still feeling like your own little French getaway. Plus, the morning croissants they bring around? Absolutely worth waking up for.

  The location is premium. The apartment feels like home away from home. The balcony is so charming. Spacious, luminous and very comfortable flat. The host is one of the sweetest I have ever met.

  The apartments have a very good location – in the center, but on a quiet street, everything is close, including parking. The apartments are not large, but cozy, quite enough for 2, equipped with everything you need. Clean, freshly renovated and furnished. Garance is hospitable and always in touch.
