You know what struck me first about this little studio on Place Alphonse Celli? The location is absolutely killer – I mean, you’re literally in the heart of Saint-Tropez, but somehow it doesn’t feel touristy in that overwhelming way. The plaza itself is this charming little square that most visitors walk right past on their way to the port, which honestly works in your favor because you get all the convenience without the constant foot traffic noise.

The studio itself is pretty compact – and I mean that in the best possible way. It’s got that French efficiency thing down perfectly, where every inch actually serves a purpose. The bed is surprisingly comfortable (I was expecting one of those rock-hard European mattresses), and there’s this lovely morning light that comes through the windows around 8 AM. Fair warning though – if you’re planning to visit during the summer festival season in July, you’ll hear some street music drifting up, but it’s more charming than disruptive. Actually, I found myself looking forward to the impromptu concerts. The little kitchenette has everything you need if you want to grab fresh ingredients from the morning market on Place aux Herbes – it’s maybe a three-minute walk, and honestly, starting your day with local tomatoes and cheese beats hotel breakfast any day.

Here’s the thing that really sold me on this place: you can walk to literally everything that matters in Saint-Tropez, but you’re tucked away enough that you feel like you’re living there, not just visiting. The famous Café de Paris is a five-minute stroll, the old citadel is right there when you want those Instagram-worthy sunset shots, and – this is key – you’re close enough to the port to people-watch the yacht crowd without paying port-side prices for your morning coffee. Parking can be a bit of a dance (welcome to Saint-Tropez), but there’s a public lot about six blocks away that won’t bankrupt you. The host was genuinely helpful with local tips too – none of that generic “enjoy your stay” stuff, but actual recommendations like which boulangerie has the best pain au chocolat and when to hit the beach clubs before they get impossibly crowded. I stayed here in late September and it was perfect – still warm enough for the beach, but the summer crowds had thinned out so you could actually enjoy the town’s charm without feeling like sardines.
