Hotel Description
You know what caught me off guard about Les Amandiers? I was expecting another overhyped Saint-Tropez spot, but this place actually feels like you’re staying at someone’s well-traveled aunt’s house – if she happened to have impeccable taste and a thing for Provençal charm. It’s tucked away on Vieux Chemin de Sainte Anne, which honestly took me a few tries to find (GPS gets a bit wonky on those narrow old roads), but that’s sort of the point. You’re maybe a ten-minute walk from all the harbor craziness, but it feels like you’ve stepped into a completely different Saint-Tropez.
The building itself is this gorgeous old stone house with shutters that actually work – I mean, they don’t just hang there for show like at so many places. Each room has its own personality, and I stayed in one that overlooked their little garden where you can hear the cicadas doing their thing in the evening. The owners, well, they’re the type who remember your coffee preference after one morning and will casually mention that the morning market on Place des Lices is best hit before 10 AM if you want the good tomatoes. There’s this lovely terrace where people tend to gather for evening wine – nothing forced or programmed about it, just happens naturally. The breakfast spread is simple but done right: proper local honey, bread from the boulangerie down the hill, and fruit that actually tastes like something.
What really sold me on the place was the practical stuff nobody talks about in those glossy reviews. Parking isn’t a nightmare (there’s a small lot, though you might need to do some creative maneuvering), the walls are thick enough that you’re not hearing every conversation from next door, and – this is key in Saint-Tropez – you can walk to the old town without dealing with the summer traffic mess. During high season it gets busy, obviously, but even in July the place maintains this relaxed vibe that’s honestly hard to find anywhere near the Côte d’Azur these days. The 9.2 rating makes sense once you’re there – it’s not trying to be the fanciest place in town, but everything works exactly as it should. If you’re looking for a pool scene or nightclub energy, look elsewhere. But if you want to actually experience Saint-Tropez without feeling like you’re staying in a tourist factory, Les Amandiers gets it right.

I cannot find anything negative to say about this property the owner and her staff were so happy, helpful and friendly. Our room was really nice and had a fantastic balcony with views across woodland and to the sea. It was very clean a good size and so was the bathroom. Breakfast was served on a lovely terrace next to the swimming pool and what a great addition this is especially in the heat of the south of France. What great place to stay hidden away from the busy town but a very short drive away from it when you want to get emersed in st tropez. Recommend for everyone.
Peaceful and love the aroma of flowers when waking up – Edward from United States – 25 June 2025 (10/10)
Loved all of the flowers and waking up to their scent. Very quiet and comfortable. Really liked having the kitchenette. Anna was also great and friendly.
What could be improved: Would have been nice to have easier access to pool. Didn’t get a chance to use it unfortunately this time.Exceptional – Csaba from Luxembourg – 21 June 2025 (10/10)
Wonderful place, very clean and with all the needed amenities, great pool, lovely staff, close to a great pizza place. We will for sure stay here again.

Comfortable chambre d'hôte in a great location – Nicholas from United Kingdom – 14 May 2025 (9/10)
This is a comfortable chamber d'hose in a great location within reasonable if slightly risky, walking distance to the town centre. Excellent facilities included the pool and parking
What could be improved: The wifi was feebleStunning stay – Tiffany from United Kingdom – 12 May 2025 (10/10)
The location is fabulous – just outside the chaos of St Tropez but a very short 5 minute drive.
The lady on reception was extremely welcoming and friendly which made our stay extra special.
What could be improved: Breakfast very limited but that’s because we are used to full English breakfasts.Excellent value for money and really nice owner. – Nigel from Austria – 8 September 2024 (10/10)
The owner is wonderful. Helpful, pleasant and competent. The room was larger than expected and had a great terrace.
What could be improved: Although the property is near to the town, the road leading there has no footpath and the traffic is quite heavy. A Taxi from town back to the property cost Euro40, a journey of around 7 minutes.enjoyed my stay – Milena from Australia – 25 August 2024 (9/10)
Pretty good location, parking space and room was super clean and had a spacious bathroom which is rare in Europe. Very quiet. Gorgeous property.
What could be improved: Scratched non stick cookware in kitchen meant I couldn't use kitchen how I wanted to. This shouldn't even be in a room considering it's super toxic to use.Perfect stay!!!! – Marta from Portugal – 25 July 2024 (10/10)
Everything was perfect!!!!! Thank you for receiving us so well, we will definitively come back
