Honestly, when I first pulled up to Be Cool on Avenue de la Rouvraie, I wasn’t sure what to expect – the name sounds like something from the ’70s, but in the best possible way. You know what though? It totally delivers on that vibe. This isn’t your typical Saint-Tropez hotel trying to be all glitzy and over-the-top. Instead, it’s got this relaxed, almost retro-cool thing going on that actually feels authentic rather than forced.

The location is pretty clever if you ask me. You’re technically in Saint-Tropez (the address says so), but you’re just far enough from the madness of the old port that you can actually sleep at night. I mean, don’t get me wrong – you can still walk to Place des Lices for the Tuesday and Saturday markets, and the beaches are totally doable, but you’re not dealing with the constant buzz of Vespas and party boats at 2 AM. The staff really knows their stuff too, which surprised me for a 3-star place. They pointed me toward this little beach club that locals use instead of the touristy ones, and honestly, that tip alone made my trip. Check-in was smooth – none of that pretentious attitude you sometimes get in this area where they act like they’re doing you a favor.

What really won me over was the attention to small details that actually matter. The rooms have this mid-century modern feel (hence the “Be Cool” name, I guess), and while they’re not huge, they’re thoughtfully laid out. The air conditioning actually works – you’d be amazed how many places around here skimp on that during those sweltering July afternoons. There’s decent parking too, which is basically gold in Saint-Tropez where most hotels either don’t have it or charge you 30 euros a night for the privilege. The pool area gets great afternoon sun, and it’s usually pretty quiet since most guests are off exploring during the day. I spent a few mornings there with coffee and croissants from the little boulangerie down the street, just watching the light change on the surrounding hills. The whole property has this laid-back energy that makes you want to slow down a bit – which is exactly what you need after fighting the crowds in town. Sure, it’s not going to wow you with marble bathrooms or a Michelin-starred restaurant, but that’s sort of the point. Sometimes you just want a place that does the basics really well and lets the destination speak for itself. Plus, at these prices in Saint-Tropez? That perfect 10 rating starts to make total sense.

  Die Lage ist sehr gut. Die Wohnung liegt in einer kleinen Appartmentanlage, von der aus man sogar einen Blick auf die Bucht hat . Die Anlage liegt ruhig und ist sehr gepflegt, was auch für die Wohnung gilt. Das Appartment ist zwar klein , aber mit allem ausgestattet, was man braucht. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis ist für dortigen Verhältnisse sehr gut. Besonders erfreulich ist auch der zur Wohnung gehörende Parkplatz auf dem durch ein elektrisches Tor gesicherten Gelände.
  
  What could be improved: Das sehr kleine Bad hat nur eine kleine Badewanne, in der man duschen kann. Dafür gibt es einen Duschvorhang. Dieser bewegt sich beim Duschen in Richtung Körper und klebt dann an diesem. Dies ist recht unangenehm und würde sich durch eine Plexiglasabtrennung vermeiden. Aber sonst gibt es an der Wohnung nichts zu meckern.
  Merkwürdig war aber bei der im Rahmen der Abwicklung, dass wir 2,70 € Gebühren für die Bearbeitung der Sicherheitsleistung an eine Fa swikly bezahlen mussten und von dieser zwei mal außerhalb von booking.com auf französisch aufgefordert wurden, Fotos von uns zu machen und dorthin zu übermitteln.Wozu?
