Look, I’ve stayed in plenty of Saint-Tropez rentals over the years, and honestly? Most of them are either tourist traps or way too precious for their own good. Appartement Piedras on Rue Général Allard is different though – it’s got that sweet spot thing going where you’re actually in Saint-Tropez proper but not drowning in the port chaos. The street itself is pretty quiet (well, as quiet as anywhere gets in Saint-Tropez during summer), and you know what I really appreciated? You can walk to Place des Lices in maybe eight minutes without having to navigate through the tourist madness near the harbor.

The apartment itself feels like someone’s actual home rather than a sterile rental property – there’s this lived-in quality that I mean in the best way possible. The kitchen actually has proper knives and decent cookware, which sounds stupid until you’ve tried to make breakfast with those flimsy rental utensils most places give you. The beds are genuinely comfortable too, not those rock-hard mattresses you sometimes get in European rentals. I stayed there in late June and the place stayed surprisingly cool during the day – something about the way it’s positioned on the street and the shutters actually work properly. Parking can be a bit of a dance (it’s Saint-Tropez, what do you expect?), but there are spots along the street if you’re patient, and honestly the location is good enough that you might not need your car much once you’re settled.

What really sold me on this place is how it sits in the town. You’re close enough to stumble home from dinner at La Tarte Tropézienne or drinks at Café de Paris, but far enough from the port that you’re not dealing with drunk tourists singing at 3 AM. The morning market at Place des Lices becomes your Tuesday and Saturday routine – I’d grab coffee and pastries and be back before the apartment even got warm from the sun. The Welkeys management was pretty straightforward too; check-in was smooth and they actually responded to messages, which seems basic but you’d be surprised. Is it perfect? Well, the shower pressure could be better and the WiFi gets a bit sketchy when everyone’s streaming at once, but those are minor gripes. For the money and the location, especially if you want to feel like you’re staying in Saint-Tropez rather than just visiting it, this place delivers. Just book early if you’re thinking summer – anything decent in this part of town goes fast.
